Six guided, interactive case studies

Student on laptop studying.
Price: $99.00 USD

Lactation coursework is essential, but eventually you need to translate lectures and reading into real-life practice. Build a bridge between the two when you experience this course’s interactive case studies.

You will be asked to make observations, offer advice, make recommendations, and create care plans. The six case studies include babies of various ages, from a 26-week preterm baby in the NICU to a 12-week-old whose parent is returning to work, with a wide range of presenting issues. A clear, effective framework and tools for evaluating each situation is presented. You’ll be asked to think critically, access your background knowledge, and use written and online resources to decide how to help. Once you choose a plan of action, the results of your advice are presented–and you can choose and explore other plans of care.

You’ll feel like you’ve had the chance to shadow an experienced IBCLC on her visits, while being invited to contribute and practice your own care skills!  Your instructor for this course is Angela Love-Zaranka, BS, IBCLC, RLC. A lactation support professional for 30 years and an instructor for 15 years, Love-Zaranka has provided clinical lactation support to thousands of families in a variety of settings, as well as providing significant leadership to the profession.
